Barack Obama BP Oil Spill details on Oval Office Address to the Nation

Today Tuesday President Barack Obama for the first time used Oval Office address to the nation about the Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico, President Barack Obama says in his nation address that 90 percent of the oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico will be captured within weeks and a topic about a new clean energy policy to end U.S. dependence on fossil fuels. Obama’s Nation address speech lasted for 18-minutes it was televised nationally mostly describing what happened in the April 20 explosion and fire on a Gulf of Mexico oil rig that led to what Obama called “the worst environmental disaster America has ever faced.”. President Barack Obama compared the Oil Spill leaking into the ocean to an epidemic that “we will be fighting for months and even years.”

President President Barack Obama meet with the chairman of oil giant BP Wednesday. President Barack Obama made clear to BP Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg, that he expects BP to pay all clean-up costs and damages from the massive Oil spill that hit the Gulf of Mexico. President Barack Obama verbalizes to Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg”set aside whatever resources are required to compensate the workers and business owners who have been harmed as a result of his company’s recklessness.” On the other hand Environmentalists supported President Barack Obama’s call for Congress to pass energy reform legislation.
